![]() Start a new game, then set the option to be a public game, then add a password if you want, as long as the host is online. You need to port forward if you start a dedicated server, but if you guy's all play at the same time, only one of you can start a peer to peer server directly in game. If I don't use Hamachi, I'll still have to port forward, right? We've had a ton of issue with port forwarding in the past, that's why we went to Hamachi. If you find ping is the issue, then there are tests you can run to find out in more detail the problem. Running released AAA game X well means about nothing when it comes to running EA Alpha games. You can check the ping for yourself and everyone on the server.so you can get an accurate understanding of who is lagging and by how much. Relogging seems to fix this issue, but when you're spending more time connecting than playing the game, it's not much fun. Everything works great for a few minutes, and then suddenly nobody but the host is able to search loot, see zombies, place blocks ect. We've tried mixing up who the host is, but no matter who's hosting, the issue persists. I myself don't ever have any lag, but my friends who join my server via Hamachi always seem to lag. Since the overhaul of the zombies and game mechanics, our lag issues have become unbearable. There is also a massive ping reduction due to playing locally. Some things to note: No one must be online while doing this otherwise it will kick people out every now and then due to an online check failure, while everyone is offline it works fine. Obviously the game port must be the same as what the host set it as, but if he/she didn't change it, then you won't have to aswell. Once the host knows his IP address, simply have the other people type in that IP address at the bottom of the 'Connect to server' page in the box next to IP. Obviously the digits on your side will differ. Search for the IPv4 address which should look something like : 192.168.80.3. Now once the host is in the game, have him minimize the game, press the windows key + R and type in CMD, and in the command prompt that appears type ipconfig. Next have your host start and load into the world you want to multiplayer, the people wanting to connect can click on 'Connect to server' in the mean time. ![]() Once in the game's main menu you can disconect your data, the 'Connect to server' button will not disappear, while offline. First off, you can use your phone to USB tether and share your data to your PC, this is just to log into steam online and then into the game.
